Grupul Stereo – Grupul Stereo Vinyl

The story of the Stereo Group begins in 1981, as a collaboration between the composer Adrian Enescu and a vocal duo formed by Crina Mardare and Elena Perianu, both graduates of the "Ciprian Porumbescu" Conservatory in Bucharest.

This collaboration materializes on a discographical level through the production, in the same year, of a first single – a 7″ vinyl disc with two tracks, "Dance of time" and "In the dream", published by Electrecord. The sound designed by Enescu for the Stereo Group is the expression of his interest in the area of electronic pop, danceable disco-funk, loaded with a melancholic atmosphere, a sound that will be found, in part, on the two self-titled albums of the Bucharest musician, Funky Synthesizer I (1982) and Funky Synthesizer II (1984), both published by Electrecord.

In 1985, our label released her only LP on vinyl and audio cassette for the Stereo Group. The music belonged to the same Adrian Enescu, while the lyrics were signed by the poet Lucian Avramescu.

It is a more studied electropop album than the one from 1981, which aligns with the international trend, but which also integrates local folkloric formulas and influences, explored by Adrian Enescu and in the soundtracks made for Romanian films from that period.

The 1985 album by Stereo Group is unique in the pop landscape of the 80s, opening a completely new path for Romanian music. Its recent reissue becomes, for this reason, an unmissable disc for music lovers and collectors.
