Each new addition to violinist Lola Bobesco's discography testifies to her consistent approach in selecting her repertoire. This aesthetic stance establishes one of the most intriguing evolutionary lines and, in part, explains the prominent place Lola Bobesco occupies in the world of interpretative art.
Lola Bobesco's personality as a violinist developed on a foundation of exceptional qualities, bearing the generous marks of Romanian talent: sounds of rare purity, sincere expression, a deeply communicative warmth, and a solid sense of measure. Awarded the "Premier Prix" of the Paris National Conservatory at the age of thirteen, and a few years later a laureate of the Eugène Ysaÿe Competition in Brussels, Lola Bobesco mastered, in this initial phase of her career, a repertoire rich in virtuosity, evolving towards a spectacular concert performance style.
The fact that after her successes with Wieniawski and Lalo, the violinist turned her focus towards the masterpieces of Bach, Mozart, and Brahms is significant. By founding the chamber orchestra Les Solistes de Bruxelles, with which she achieved great success worldwide in the pre-classical repertoire, Lola Bobesco reaffirmed her belief in the enduring value of true music and her aspirations towards the highest realms of art.
