Aura Urziceanu – Seară De Jazz Cu Aura CASS

With this legendary LP Seară de jazz cu Aura, the first edition of which was released in February 1974, Electrecord inaugurates the series of reissues of essential albums of Romanian music, on vinyl, audio cassette and CD formats. In the exactly 50 years since its publication, this disc by Aura Urziceanu - accompanied, in the two afternoons in which the recordings were made, by the Bucharest Septet, a group of formidable instrumentalists - has turned into an object of the veneration of many generations of music lovers in the country and abroad. Jazz evening with Aura is the definition of the local jazz sound from the mid-70s - intense, playful, tender, versatile and performing -, located in a grid that the late Aurel Gherghel aptly called, in the text on the back cover - the LP from '74, "a jazz of Romanian inspiration and atmosphere".
