„Înregistrările realizate de Romica Puceanu împreună cu Taraful Fraților Gore pe întreaga perioadă a anilor ’60 surprind o artă muzicală aflată la apogeul ei, echilibrată și senină, încă deschisă transformărilor – așa cum aveau să o arate deceniile următoare –, dar pe de-a-ntregul matură și cristalizată.
Cei interesați de muzica lăutărească veritabilă pot găsi aici repertoriul ei cel mai vechi, trunchiul stilistic cel mai solid și o tehnică impecabilă, sinceră, lipsită de epatări inutile. Prin urmare, o artă desăvârșită – cu nimic mai prejos decât suratele ei urbane zămislite prin alte colțuri ale planetei, swing jazz, fado sau rebetiko – ce așteptă a fi mereu redescoperită.
Inițiativa Electrecordului de a reedita în trei volume plănuite să apară pe durata a trei ani toate înregistrările acestei minunate perioade artistice a Romicăi Puceanu – anii ‘60, deceniu în care a fost acompaniată de Taraful Fraților Gore – nu poate fi decât împlinirea unei obligații morale.”
Albumul de față reproduce muzica de pe primele discuri ale Romicăi Puceanu apărute în anul 1964.
